Governance

We build projects that create positive impact for a sustainable future with strong governance.

Good Governance

As Mapa Group, we reinterpret the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) framework as G-E-S (Governance, Environmental, Social) by placing Governance (G) at the forefront of our strategy. We believe that Environmental (E) and Social (S) sustainability can only be achieved through a correct and good governance model. Therefore, the primary step to minimise environmental impact and generate social value is to ensure sustainability in governance. This means adopting a business model that prioritises sustainability in decision-making processes, management and throughout the organisation. In this direction, Mapa Group actively strives to support strong corporate governance in all its operations and to integrate sustainability into governance processes.

Diversity and Inclusion

Within the scope of our strong governance approach, Mapa Group attaches great importance to the principles of diversity and inclusion, especially gender equality. This attitude increases the success of our projects. We support diversity; we take care to provide a work environment where our diverse employees of different genders, origins, age groups, education, experience, talents and skills work in cooperation to achieve common goals. We adopt an inclusive approach; based on the principle of equal opportunities, we take care to provide equal rights, opportunities and advantages to all our employees and to ensure that they are treated with equal respect, and we encourage their active participation in all our business processes. We enrich our solution processes and ensure that our projects are completed sustainably, with our diverse management and employee staff that brings together different perspectives, expertise and talents, by increasing our creativity and innovation.

We prioritise gender equality and the empowerment of women in our working environment. Mapa Group’s Board of Directors ensures diversity in terms of age, gender and expertise and our board members have extensive experience in their respective fields and are qualified for good corporate governance. We are proud to have a diverse leadership team, with two of Mapa Group's six strong Board members being women, in addition to a significant number of women executives within the Group. We aim to increase the diversity of our workforce and especially the number of women in management positions because we see diversity as an asset and believe that it strengthens our business performance.

Sustainability Organization

Mapa Group has a strong organisational structure regarding sustainability. Mapa Group Board of Directors regularly reviews and supervises Mapa Group’s strategic priorities and business plans, as well as environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies and related risks.

Mapa Group's Compliance, Ethics and Sustainability Committee assists the Board of Directors in its ESG-related responsibilities. This Committee, which covers various departments, consists of senior executives, including legal, finance, occupational health and safety, quality and human resources directors, meets periodically and reports to the Board of Directors and the CEO on Committee activities.

In addition, Mapa Group ESG Working Groups, which are formed for each ESG issue, support the Compliance, Ethics and Sustainability Committee in the detailed evaluation of the issues. ESG Working Groups consist of experts from various departments, meet periodically and share the studies, data and recommendations on relevant ESG issues with the Committee. This inter-organisational collaboration enables us to shape and implement Mapa Group's sustainability strategies more effectively.
